There is something that has been bothering me lately, and I really need to get it out there. Right? So I apologize for getting into this rant, but it has to be said.
Vending machines are great, right? I mean they are a easy way to get the snacks or drinks that you need right then without having to deal with cashiers, they are conveniently located, and usually the prices are pretty fair.
If you have 12 nickels, boom, here's a can of coke.
The thing that really bothers me about vending machines though is that they don't give you a receipt.
Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I've had some bad experiences due to crazy lack of receipts.
I had just bought a bottle of soda from a vending machine outside one of those sketchy gas stations. You know those gas stations on the side of the highway that look like a scene from a horror movie, but the store owner knows that this is the only station for 120 miles, so they don't even bother doing any upkeep.
Anyway, I walk in with my bottle of coke, buy a few more things and when I go to check out the guy tries to make my buy the soda a second time. I told him I got it from the vending machine. He actually asked me to show him the receipt. This man owns the vending machine, he knows damn well that there are no receipts.
But of course, I didn't have one, so I ended up paying again for this bottle of soda which is half empty at this point.
So yeah, whoever designs new vending machines, you know what to do.
Also, "Gourmet Coffee is served in this machine" my ass...
