city planning

Cities are designed horribly. I hate to say it, but it's just the truth. The roads are laid out awful. People drive way to dangerously, and it can be impossible to get from one place to the other. So how can we fix it?

Well, I have an idea. And it starts with building my own city.

We'll call it (whatever the fuck we want because the name of the town isn't really what matters here) and it will be amazing. Why will my city be better than any other current city in America?

Because there will be no roads. That's right, not a single road in sight.

You'd park outside the city limits, and walk wherever you needed to go. You could rent a bike, to get to work, or take the trolly anywhere you needed to go. People would ride horseback if they wanted to, but there would be no automobiles. Not a single road, just walkways. The walkways could be more narrow than roads are so you could fit more buildings on a block. It would be a shorter walk from one end of the city to the other. Not to mention how much money we'd save on gas (and the total environmental impact would be cool too I guess).

It's perfect (almost),

Now I know what you're thinking, how would people move into the city if there are no moving truck. And how would all the stores get their inventory if they didn't have loading docks? How would mail be delivered? You think there are too many holes in my logic. You think that my idea could never work.

But I don't care. I stand by my idea. And one day I will start this city. And it will fail, both economically and socially. Because I'm a millennial (kind of) and that's just what we do.
